YouTube has been one of the most popular website to see all kinds of videos posted by people worldwide. just enter the YouTube website and you can search almost any type of videos on the subject you like.

with the embedded HTML code and video streaming technology, is able to watch videos directly from your browser. You can also publish a text or a video response to videos, view other related videos and upload your own video as well. with a given number of features, unfortunately there is a feature that YouTube does not offer and that is to stop downloading the video.

But here’s a trick I can download and save the video for offline viewing.

1. go to any YouTube video you are watching. Click on the page and select the “View Source” menu option. O “View Page Source” for FireFox browser.

2. Press “CTRL + F” to search for a word player2.swf. And realize that there is a line of HTML like this:

“/ Player2.swf? TRTk0RPXtW4 hl = en & video_id = & l = 63 & t = OEgsToPDskIQlbZwT1Qgaln7RKqMqrKe”

3. Replace the “/ player2.swf” to “youtube.com/get_video” and become:

“youtube.com/get_video?video_id=tRTk0RPXtW4&l=63&t=OEgsToPDskIQlbZwT1Qgaln7RKqMqrKe”

4. Paste the “above the address bar in your browser and hit” Enter “. then it prompts you to save the video. REMEMBER the name of your video with it. “Flv” at the end of the file name. A correct example would be something like “myvideo.flv.

Note that the video that you saved is now in Flash Video format. is use standard file format for playing YouTube video on your website. therefore, its Windows Media Player may not be able to play the video. But do not worry, you have to do is go to google.com and search for “FLV Player” and there are couples of players available software. just download and install on your computer you can watch the video that you saved at this time.
